The Jason McClain Bull Riding School, founded in 2012 at Ski Hi Park in Monte Vista, offers top-notch training for riders of all levels. Named for six-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo competitor Jason McClain of Cortez, the school combines his instruction with the quality stock of Burris and Sons Bucking Bulls. Each spring, students—some as young as eight—take on an intense, boot camp–style program that builds skill, grit, and confidence. The school has gained national recognition, drawing participants from across the West and producing standout talent, including Cordell Curtis of Monte Vista, who went on to place fifth at the PRCA Mountain States Pro Rodeo Circuit.
